In April 2019, I returned for the 6th consecutive year as faculty for the DJO Residents and Fellows Course, held in Tampa, Florida. This course is a 3 day course devoted to shoulder and elbow arthroplasty and features several hours of hands-on lab training.

The 2018 Annual Meeting of ASES was held in Chicago in October 2018. The meeting was especially significant for me because the society president was Dr. Anthony Romeo, who had mentored me during residency at Rush and because the meeting honored long time University of Washington Department Chair, Dr. Frederick Matsen, III, who had mentored both Dr. Romeo and myself during our fellowships. One of my responsibilities was to gather mentors and “mentees” for this group photo. I’m at the bottom right.
